A valve enquiry needs to define the function as well as the nominal size. Isolation, non-return and flow-control requirements may call for different valve designs and acceptance criteria.
Send a valve datasheet or line-item list that identifies the type, working pressure, temperature, fluid service, connections and operating method. Include any material, testing and documentation requirements.
For a replacement valve, supply the manufacturer, model and dimensional limits. Actuator and control interfaces should be stated separately so the full proposed scope can be reviewed.

Standards & requirements
State the governing valve specification and edition. API 6A may be relevant to specified wellhead and tree equipment; applicability must be established for the requested valve.
