A requirement-led approach.
Connections must match the governing specification and the equipment they join. Nominal size and a pressure description alone do not establish that two components are interchangeable.
Send the flange or adapter drawing, connection designation, bore and material requirements. Identify both ends of an adapter and include the required gasket or sealing interface where relevant.
Specify whether bolting, gaskets and other accessories are included. Inspection and material records should be listed in the enquiry so their availability can be confirmed with the proposed supply.

Provide the applicable connection standard, edition and drawing. Where API 6A is specified, identify the relevant connection and project acceptance requirements.
